Colombe Paper Colombe
paper is a paper handmade at the Moulin de Larroque. Colombe has a
richly textured surface and is lightly internally sized. The paper is
made of 100% cotton rag with four natural deckled edges. Colombe is also called Larroque paper, a paper that was first made in the 13th century in the Bordeaux region of France. On the river Couze, it carries on the tradition of hand papermaking, producing over 120 different types of papers. Colombe paper is made using cotton rags, linen and the pure water of the Couze River, which is slightly alkaline. Each sheet is formed by hand, couched and interleaved with felts, pressed and oven dried to insure uniformity and the greatest possible strength in each sheet. Colombe should be lightly sprayed with water, then covered with plastic for at least an hour prior to printing. The paper is not surface sized, but will accept light washes. Handmade Colombe Paper is available in a range of colors including white. Applications of Colombe Paper
