Cotton
paper was first made in Rittenhouse Paper Mill, US. Peddlers collected
old cotton rags from people's home to make into paper. Cotton paper is
made from 100% cooton fibers. The cotton fiber is a seed hair fiber
contained within the cotton ball. Most cotton pulp comes from cotton
linters. Cotton can also be mixed with other recycled paper fiber for a
high quality paper type.
Cotton papers are superior in both strength and durability to wood
pulp-based papers, which often contain high concentrations of
destructive acids. They dont fade, discolor and deterioate. They are
available in a variety of weights.
Some cotton papers are made from the inferior shorter cotton fibers.
When you work on these papers intensively, they can start to get fuzzy.
Cotton papers made from the longest cotton fibers are the best. They can
withstand lots of erasing and working without showing any wear at all.
The life expectancy of 100% cotton paper is well over one hundred years.
Handmade Cotton paper can be available in smoth and vellum finishes.
Cotton paper is a good choice for printing resumes and many other
similar documents. It is used for packing high qualities clothes and
leather goods.
