About Handmade Paper

Ogura Lace Paper

Ogura Lace PaperOgura lace paper is a stunning Japanese paper good for overlays. These are the strongest Japanese papers made from 100% manila hemp. To form the distinctive lace pattern, a water jet is directed on the newly formed sheets to create patterns of holes in the fibers. These papers are internally sized and are not acid free.

Ogura lace paper does not turn yellow and disintegrate. These papers are available in a spectrum of colors including cardinal, sky blue, russet, pink, plum, olive, lilac, spring green and sunflower.

Delicate looking but tough and versatile, this hemp-based paper makes a great background or accent paper too. Handmade Ogura Lace Paper is versatile in their use and the uses include decorative, book arts, invitations, lampshades, collage, etc.
