Salago
paper is a superlative, beautiful and an opaque paper made in
Philippines from Phillippines gampi or salago with inclusions of natural
materials.
Salago is a wild shrub native to the Philippines. Limbs are
trimmed, the bark is stripped off and the inner fiber of the branch is
boiled and beaten to make paper. Because of its superlative strength and
natural sheen, salago papers are shiny and strong.
Salago papers contain inclusions of coconut, rice hulls, abaca
fibers or hand torn banana bark. These papers range from colorfully
vibrant to subtle pastel. Color and weight can vary due to its
handmade
nature. This is a very versatile Handmade Salago Paper with a special feel and a great
complement to mulberry papers. It is a 100% non-wood pulp paper thus
making it an environment-friendly product.
